KNOWLEDGE IS NOT STATIC

Hello Readers, it's really been lovely having you on this journey with Mobola Writes and you all are highly appreciated. So, I'll be sharing an experience I encountered way back and in the process, I'll be inspiring and enlightening us. I had travelled to spend my Yuletide holiday with my aunt that particular year. I bet you can relate to the joy that fills our heart as children when it's holiday period. She's been the cook since I arrived while I watch and help out with little errands, however, she told me to prepare vegetable soup that fateful evening because she was busy with other stuffs. As a young lady, I had set out to prove my culinary skills even though I was lazy most times to cook. By the way, I'm not a good cook but I'll never add too much salt to your food. So calm down (lol). I remembered setting the gas, placing the pot on it and then, I added water. Funny, isn't it? I was in the process of mixing the melon (egusi) when my aunt came in...

CHRISTMAS; A SEASON OF LOVE OR HATE?

Image
It is a wonder that we, at one time or the other, marvel at the hatred spreading its wing in our society today. However, with this thought comes another showing its head in a corner, telling us to mind our business and leave hate to those hating; thus giving us room to forget that we are in the same boat as we have hated others and hated by others too. A friend spoke to me about an incident in her compound, which amuses her and at the same time baffles her, an irony right. She was coming back from church on a not so pleasant Sunday. On getting home, she received a huge hug from a little girl. She was taken aback, as the girl's parents so to say were not on talking terms with other neighbours. “God knows I needed that hug” she said to me, “but I had to strain from such display of emotion since I didn't want to land the little girl in trouble with her parent”. Then, I begin to wonder why parents make sure their offsprings follow suit when they are not in good terms wit...

So today on Variety Thursday, we would be sharing and discussing that particular thing. What would you love to change about yourself, the society you live in and the entire world if you had the power and opportunity to do so?

READING; THE RAINBOW OF LIFE

Image
It is of no doubt that reading adds colour to life and meaning to one's existence. Each book read is like a sharpened colour pencil. Although some people are still oblivious to this wonderful fact.  However, the good news is that we can share our coloured pencil with others by suggesting wonderful books we have read. This is to encourage others to build reading habits. Kindly suggest and leave a review of the books you've read in the comment section and let us share in your library. Reading is fun! Reading is beautiful! Reading is power!

GRATITUDE

Image
I left home sometimes back with a burdened heart even though I managed to let out a smile. I kept pondering and dealing with my inner conflict throughout my journey to school. I was on the staircase, when something happened. I was jolted to reality by a sharp pain. Someone had mistakenly pushed me and the normal me would have shouted but I didn't know why I was calm. "I'm sorry", came the voice while I replied same. He furthered by saying " could you please lead me to room 202?" Only then did I discover he was visually impaired. One thing that caught my attention was the fact that he was all smiles, full of joy and greeted everyone as I led him to his destination but here I was looking all gloomy because I couldn't get a particular thing. Such a paradox, right?  Often times, we brood and fail to be grateful for what we have because we can't get that particular thing we want but those who are not privileged to have that little still find it in t...
