BUILDING THE FOUNDATION RATHER THAN FOCUSING ON THE BUILDING

On Sunday, I spent 45 minutes of my life listening to how to keep a relationship (marriage). You needed to see the smile and blush on the married couples' faces; they kept nodding in affirmation to what the preacher was saying while we, the singles kept looking like a lost sheep. To save myself from the trauma, 'cause I couldn't relate to what's being said, I started fondling with my phone. As if reading our minds, the preacher went ahead to talk on relationship for singles for just ten minutes with the popular Bible quote "do not be unequally yoke with unbelievers". I bet you all can see the inequality attached to these things. While marriage took 45mins, single hood took just 10mins, that is, more prominence was/is given to marriage and this is where the mistakes come in. In reality, marriage is not the ultimate and if we can spend more time in building the foundation (single hood), laying the blocks properly and grooming singles, we'll have less issues to deal with in marriage. 1. Haq haq haq. Sadly, our society doesn't care about the foundation of whatever structure we have (economy, religion, morals, marriage, etc). It is all about the finished structure. Whereas, we all grew up (our parents and older generations inclusive) hearing "when the foundation is bad, the building cannot remain."

  2. It's so unfortunate that we live in a society where the most important issues are being neglected.

  3. In a society such as this where the youths are looked upon by the adults as unfit, it's unsurprising to see them ignore these issues and that sucks.

    1. Everyone acts as if they didn't pass through that stage. Little wonder we're seeing the results we see now.

      Thanks for your contribution.

  4. We live in a society where religion is emphasized, yet we don't even follow what it says. Didn't the Bible say I'd the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?' This simply means that one has to get it right from the foundation itself.

    1. I agree. But as it is now, it seems the word "foundation" has been evicted from life's dictionary. It's a wakeup call to us all. So we won't make the same mistake with the upcoming generation.

Thanking you for your feedback. It's really appreciated.
